There’s been a piece of me that’s really been wanting to start writing again. But then again, so much has changed in my life since I first started this blog that every time I think I’m “coming back” .. Something happens, and life pulls me away.
My last post was written back in July of 2019 when I was in my second trimester of pregnancy – last year. So it’s safe to say, a lot has happened between now & then – where do I even begin?
I used to use this blog as a place to expand on my thoughts and research around preventative health, creating easy recipes and sharing my best ideas on how to approach wellness – within reach.
I still find all of that very important, and I’m still incorporating most of it into my daily life – but my priorities around what I want to talk about these days, have shifted.
I’m a new mom now. To a beautiful, sweet & silly 3 month old boy. I shared his birth story on instagram in two parts on THIS post …
& part two on THIS ONE. It’s attached to a video of us, completely in awe of him – when he was barely one hour old.
He’s beyond anything we could have ever imagined and our love for him can’t be written into words.
That being said, when I became pregnant – I thought I would blog about it as I experienced it. Then when I gave birth I thought “I’m going to have so much time on my hands” and I couldn’t wait to share the experience with you. Then motherhood kicked in and I didn’t log into my computer for months.
So, that time has obviously come and gone. I shared much more of it all on instagram and completely neglected this blog of mine.
So, here’s a 30 second recap…
It was exhausting at first, then it was nauseating, then I started feeling really good. Around week 12ish, I was beyond excited to be eating vegetables & enjoying green smoothies again. For the majority of my second trimester and most of the third, I had tons of energy (most days), and I absolutely loved watching my belly grow and feeling the little guy kick and wiggle inside of me. I even discovered that swimming laps at 36 weeks + was my favorite form of exercise. Being submerged in that cold water in the middle of summer was everything.
The doctor’s appointments were the most frustrating part of it all (more on this to come), the whole getting comfortable in bed thing (towards the end) was really a struggle. All of the fancy pillows couldn’t help me and all I wanted to do was lay belly down (but I couldn’t).
Long story short – I honestly enjoyed most of it – except for the whole getting up every two hours to pee towards the end. I swear that’s the body’s way of prepping us for the future of constantly interrupted sleep patterns that come along with raising a newborn. Mother nature knows what she’s doing – but I would have given anything to have slept through the night at least once in those last few weeks.
That being said, I’m now nearly 4 months in to motherhood and have so much I’m dying to share with you.

I also still have big plans of creating that healthy pregnancy + postpartum recovery e-book we talked about on instagram. Now that nap times are happening more consistently – I might just have the time to make it happen.
So, this is me… saying “hello” again.
& I’m coming back, with a whole new perspective.
