This versatile sweet & tart applesauce is great to have on hand and as an afternoon snack, a dessert, mixed into oatmeal or even the new favorite on your Thanksgiving table!

Instructions
  1. In a large pot on the stove, add 1/2c of water on low heat
  2. As the water begins to simmer, add 1 cinnamon stick
  3. Peel, core and chop the apples into small cubes & add the apples and cranberries to the simmering water.
  4. Allow to simmer on medium-low heat, stirring occasionally for 20-30 minutes until apples and cranberries have completely softened and mixed.
  5. Remove from heat and squeeze the juice of one small lemon over the top & Mix In.
  6. ENJOY!
Recipe Notes

Add a tablespoon or two of coconut palm sugar for sweetness if the mix is too tart for you.

Use a potato masher to smooth out the mixture, leaving some small chunks in the mix for texture. But, if you prefer smoother textures you can blend or puree in a food processor to your desired consistency... (just don't forget to remove the cinnamon stick before placing into any blender.)

Refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
