This green smoothie truly is the ‘Ultimate’ green smoothie you’ve been looking for.
I created this green smoothie with a desire for a large dose of plant protein in mind. The flavor comes from the pears, kiwi and banana while the creamy texture and delicious plant protein comes from hemp seeds, avocado and the amazing cashew.

This morning’s Breakfast for a quick on-the-go start to my day! A great combo of fruits and veggies with nuts & seeds for added protein … blended into a delicious smoothie! Now, I’ve already done a post focused on hemp seeds (check out my Hemp Protein Berry Smoothie here.) So, today the highlight of the smoothie is the ever so powerful and mood-lifting Cashew…
Did you know a handful of cashews can boost your mood? According to Dr. Andrew Saul from the FOOD MATTERS film, two handfuls of cashews provide the equivalent mood boosting effects as a therapeutic dose of Prozac (prescription anti-depressant medication).
So How do they do this? Cashews are one of the highest natural sources of tryptophan, the precursor for the production of serotonin, the feel good hormone in the brain. & not to mention they’re packed with protein, flavor and healthy saturated fats that your body needs. Rich in copper & magnesium as well, they’re a great addition to a smoothie or just a mid day snack!
- Handful of baby spinach
- 1 yellow pear
- 1 banana
- 1 kiwi (outside skin removed)
- half of an avocado (pit & skin removed)
- 1 handful of cashews
- 3 tablespoons of hemp seed hearts
